Unneeded advantage

Ok as anyone can see now, GB is taking a hit and is going down! (yesh im happy abt this). I know i ought to beposting on basically anything else besides DAD decks but they are ruling the format and currently just SO MANY builds have made success and are being tested (from dhero doom lord builds to just normal DAD-tele control)

Today, i m gonna post on some "unwanted advantage" in the DAD deck. Okay im gonna go straight forward and clear in this post and not go use big words and beat around the bush like the metagame.com authors XD
The current average DAD deck runs at least 12spells in their deck to speed up and own the duel and set control in the early game fast. U could get a DAD and a stardust out on thefirst turn or second turn n no one can stop you. However, i see some of the featured matches in metagame.com and also from personal experience and seeing other ppl use it, the deck seems to run out of fuel by the second/ third turn. Now THIS ISNT good.
If you look from my point of view the DAD decks has many manyMANY unwanted advantages in there. There are currently:
a) 3 emergency teleport
b) 3 reinforcement of the army
c) 3 allure of darkness
d) 3 destiny draw
Now thats a heck of a lot of cards in there.
Now lets see a decklist 0f the average DAD deck:

I know i know the deck awfully looks like baha's from his blog but you cant blame me ! Basically everybody (i mean nearly everybody) is runnin an exact copy of this deck. If they dint change or replace some cards for tech of their own choices then the deck will basically work the same way.


Now after you play for a while, these are some problems you might face:

*useless cards
Why do i say have useless crds? Well its like this. Some times in a game you might draw out those clevonses or your warriors early and so here is problem number one,
you got useless speed cards! What im tryin to convey here is that the speed cards in your deck are basically functional only once a duel. I don think running 3 of each is a must. What i mean is look at this situation:
You play [destiny draw] and pitch [d-hero malicious]. You play your two [emergency teleports] and sync with the [dhero-diabolic guy]s in your deck to create your synchros bla bla bla. Afterwards in the game you can see that after using the destiny draw up, you will find that your 2 other destiny draws in your deck are pratically useless. Also if you dont run anymore warriro cards the 3 reinforcements are gonna be shit. Also, with the current draw engine there is a 60% to 70% chance that you are gonna get clevonse in your hand and end up with useless teleports in the deck.

Solution: cut down those speed cards. We still must keep 3 allure of darkness. Oh yes its GAY GAY GAY. However i see 3 destiny draw being pitched out for space. Next i think running 2 reinforcements are enough. Keeping 3 cards just to fuel 3 targets in the deck is quite useless. You will most likely find out that those targets are already in your hand or something else. So i would say either increase the warrior targets (i dont know there are like a thousand cards and good ways to do it?) U can add necro gardnar, or dark grepher haiyo there is just so many. Dont forget: Necro gardnar(lvl3)+emergency teleport (clevonse-lvl20 = AOJ catastor (lvl5) Yay!

Also stuff like [dd crow] should be sidedecked instead cuz you are never sure of your matchup. Maindecking crow is good but if u ask me the deck rather focuses on their own field rather than controling your opponent. In fact the deck focuses on the field while controlling opponnent. Summoning [stardust dragon] and [dark arm dragon] makes your opponent think twice before playing a certain card. they need to get the most advantage out of their plays and with those 2 cards out they arent gonna have much advantage.

next problem: Bounce back
This problem doesnt mean bounce back but your opponent bouncing back. Ok i did choose a stupid title =.= but its practically what i mean to say. What i mean is you set up your field and control control liau then suddenly you find out that your opponent has cards to fight back and regain control of the game. Lightlords do this exceptionaly well with 3 honest. I had my [dark arm dragon] destroyed by [honest] and i was damn pissed there i could remember. Yesh yesh
Remember the previous problem of useles cardds? it makes it worse here. With useless cards and fuel gone for synchro-summoning then you basically cant regain control of the game!

solution- Run more tech cards. It wont hurt. destiny hero doom lord isnt an option. Im talking abt other stuff. You could run [phoenix wing wind blast] to make up for the lost destiny engine and for taking out stuff. It your opponent [Honest] his card then if i chain [pwwb] and discard something useful for myself like [necro gardnar/ dhero diabolic guy/ zombie carrier] then you just got yourself advantage!!

So i think we can some to a conclusion that we can go innovate the deck more. I dono how. happy netdecking lalala. if u dont agree on me on this well so be it. Like any of my posts its just an idea and it wont hurt u guys to do some thinking abt it or try it out right? Who knows you might find out that it actually works.

Some tech cards for the DAD teleport deck.

Last post i talked all about the DAD deck and the tech from Baltimore. Today i shall post once again on the DAD deck. Awhile ago, Baha (Michael Santoso) from www.duelingdays.blogspot.com posted his DAD allure deck. U look at it and think "Ey? Nothing special about it ler!" But then when i looked properly i saw "Dhero defender" in there. I asked myself again n again why it was in there. To me, defender was a nobody and it basically doesnt help against the Gladial Beast matchup. It lets GB ram into it and then all they do is eat damage and then they tag out new stuff and i lose my defender.
But this card is more than meets the eye. Firstly its stats are PERFECT. I repeat perfect! Its dark and dark has the most support in the game. Furthermore its level 4 which is good and its searchable by [reinforcement of the army] and [e-hero airman]. The DAD deck runs 3 reinforcments. This sometimes result in hand clog and then maybe u drew your [e-hero stratos] already. You find out you have no targets left in deck. defender fills up the space perfectly.

Next, [dhero defender] has a big defense. Any card save [red dragon archfiend] or [goyou guardian] cant take it down. Lay in on the field for the first turn n watch your opponent ram into it! They eat damage and the next turn you play ur [emergency teleport]s and call out goyou. Kill two birds with one stone. Thats what i call good.

Defender also is a good bait for [allure of darkness] and [destiny draw] With 3 ddraw in the DAD deck, and usually one stratos will search out 1[dhero diabolic guy] Basically you only use one destiny draw to discard Malicious. This makes the other 2 [destiny draw] in your deck dead unless you wanna discard your other Malicious(es) but u dont! because its synchro bait! Defender is a great tarrget for d-draw and allure of darkness too. Oh yea did i mention its good bait for [Deck destruction virus-crush card]?


Next up we have [dark grepher]! Grepher is also good. Look at its stats. Its 1700 atk (thats enough to take down prisma-not that it will ever stay on the field =.=) and its warrior making it compatible with [reinforcment of the army] as well. Dark stats is just gay and lvl 4...Welll.....

Grepher primely is a sole target for reinforcements. Last card (dhero defender) i mentioned abt the useless card problems. With [ehero airman] gone , what other card do we search out with [reinforcement of the army] ? Grepher fills the spot perfectly. Imagine this you open a hand without monsters but with 2 reinforcements, you play them and call [ehero airman] and [darkgrepher]. Summon airman and search out [dhero diabolicalguy] Then discard diabolic guy and call special summon dark Grepher! If you have any [urgent teleport] congrats you just got out a stardust. Control on turn one XD

Grepher also helps to achieve 3 dark monster in graveyard too easily for [dark arm dragon]. Besides that he is level 4 so, goyou bait anyone? In a (zombie synchro) deck this card could just turn gay as it discards malicious from hand and then disard your [zombie carrier] to grave, voila you have your stardust.

Why not play Grepher? It wont hurt! Its good tech and if you dont like it you could throw it out, but its not much of a problem anyway as its most likely to help, hands down, PPL have tried it and its proven to better than [knight of the end].Its fast and easy n reliable also. Im making my posts all on OCG as im an OCG player. OCG decks have yet to try Grepher and im sure it wouldnt hurt.So TCG players im nt talkin abt u guys now as i can see Grephehr running wild in TCG. Thats reaosn to play it! Nearly every top 16 deck from Baltimore runs it. What more reason to play it as its cheap! Its only a common guys my friend bought one booster pack and kenak it ! How easy.
Next is a surprising choice. I know i know. It doesnt look much as its just a card that takes out 1000 or less cards from the deck. this sucks ass i know as so many cards miss that number by a few points! Argh! [goblin zombie], [krebons] la all misss. But look at this:

It kills DAD decks.
Basicaly why i say it kills DAD decks is because it destroys [dhero diabolic guy] when diabolic guy is special summoned, it can just flip and then boom all your opponent efforts are wasted! Its removed from play mind you guys so you cant do tricks like use [the reincarnation prophecy] and its basically dead. No more synchro fuel. Deck weakened alot. Muahahah. [dd crow] does the same thing but this is an alternate version and might just work as good as it has advantages which crow doesnt have. Besides that it also kills [zombie carrier] as when it tries to special summon back, it gets removed from play and all the other copies in the deck disappear too. haha no cariier! But of course [royal iron wall] will kill this card

Next, it kills GB!
No no it doesnt kill GB alot but it does kill the main card which is "slave tiger"! [test tiger] is the problem creator and when opponent summon it just use this card and chain it and laugh as all 3 copies and up in the outplay zone. Also kills the fish as you dont have annoying card like it coming and destroy my monsters. But who runs more than one fish anyway. Still, this card is free so what do u lose? Nothing! Kills hoplomus too (its the rhino one n the only one that i can rmb the name )=.=

ABIT of lightlords affected too.
Well it does slay [lightlord hunter raikou] as it flips and then u basically kill off the other raiko in deck. But effect still resolve anyway so not really good just pointing out nia ...=.= Argh miss honest by 100 atk points!!! GRRR

Other decks affected too
Stuff like psychic will get killed, as cards like [mind master] and other weak stuff killed too. Magician abit killed too as u can kill off [apprentice mage] or [revengeful old mage] as they come to field to do work. Magicians are abt to get a boost from the next Structure deck and personally im pleased as i like magicians alot since they came out. Hope [toy magician] and [darkred enchanter] and even [sorceror of dark magic] come out. I want sorceror >.< style="font-weight: bold;">all destruction effects not destruction effect that target a psychic monster =( Also that wont be good as it is too gay. Besides we have [stardust dragon] liau anyway.

Shonen Jump Baltimore

Baltimore has come and gone n GB is still ruling...=(
however we all know that the dark arm decks have already catched up alot on GB. This means one thing dark arm teleport decks are gonna be able to beat GB soon as the deck is so simplifying and it is so fast and it can allow so much new tech. However GB decks have no0 new techas they stay to their test tiger +prismer combo. Although they have gotten DD crow, DAD teleport decks are still at advantage

The good thing about the DAD deck is tat is too fast. While gb dont have any good draw card and speed up as they onli aim to commit to the field and control it. Its good but the DAD deck is too fast because they have more than 12 cards ready to be used to thin the deck. The cards r 3 reinforcements, 3 allure, 3 destiny draw, and 3 emergency teleport. Teleport is just gay n i think its gonna be limited next list. With the dhero malicious coming out fast and thinning deck along with e-hero airman we already have 15 cards used to speed up games. So we have 25 cards in the deck left basically. No wonder we see DAD too often?

Now im g0nna talk abt SJ Baltimore. Baltimore was definitely interesting as we see Synchro variants everywhere from the Vision gun blue syncrho to even synchro dude!(which im gonna try to make a deck of soon) and ppl everywhere were running 2 to 3 dd crow to kill d-hero diabolicguy. Dhero devil guy even became tech! which im very very fond to hear of since dhero devilguy was the first d-hero we see in GX and because of him i was fascinated by the d-heros.

D-hero devilguy is so good for few reasons. Damn easy to search out with e-hero airman, reinforcements, sangan, and is compatible with destiny draw and crush card virus. What made this card so good and it ended paul levitin and one of the bellido brothers in top 16 because it can get rid of anything. Heraklinos is annoying and is the main stopper of DAD synchro decks. Well, this card get rids of him and gives u 2 turns to think of a way to stop him. With the DAD deck speed, u have no problem to access DAD or get out something to stop it.

Next collosal fighter is something that is running wild. The best card against LIghtlord because it basically destroys Honest. Now honest is gay and something that can take it down is welcome in my deck if u ask me. When destroyed by abttle, collosal fighter lets u revive a warrior from graveyard back to field. So, if honest+other monster kills this guy, u basically end up reviving collosal fighter, take some lp damage and rid ur opponent of Honest.

Next up is urmm...dimensional prison. I guess the gladiator beast decks are gonna run this card like wild soon as it just basically kill the synchro monsters. Well, it is the best answer to stardust dragon and alot of other cards. Aside from killing stardust it stops other GB-gyzarus in mirror matches.

And we have Phoenix wing wind blast! Being basically the best discard cost one take out card in the game right now, PWWB was run by 10 duelist of the top 16! Better than raigeki break because firstly it doesnt give ur opponent who runs GB a target for darius. Also although raigeki break messes with ur opponent's in grave dont forget that in dark mirror matches u will find out that opponent willl choose to summon stardust dragon with their malicious and emergency teleports, tell me what raigeki break is gonna do against that. Besides being good, it also returns synchro monster back to deck. I think wasting a card and most likely a (malicious) is pretty good trade for ur opponent synchro monster. The good thing is u will most likely special summon back that discarded malicious.

Another good tech i think will be the transmigration prophecy. Since it messes with the opponent dark in grave or mess with zombies or lightlords, i guess its kinda good. It also makes ur opponent waste a crow if he chooses to use crow. All u have to do is chain prophecy and u have 1 less crow to worry abt. It also messes with ur opponent's dhero-diabolicguy which i think is important for the Dark duelist. Returning it back to deck will most likely have ur opponent to draw it again and find another way of discarding it. Or u could adjust ur darks in grave. Sometimes u find that u have a dhero malicious in grave and u got a hand clog of more malicious(es) Then u can discard the malicious for d-draw and finally chain prophecy to return ur malicious to ur deck so u can special summon it out again. This card is probably one of the best tricks.

I think there are many more good innovative tricks that we have seen in SJ Baltimore. i shall stop here and continue in part 2 which i shall review some of the decks and tell how much potential they have in the current metagame. Grats to Hector Heras for the best deck there. I shall also talk about psychic commander. He might be the next card to throw in our sidedecks in 3s as long as GB is still alive and kicking

The apotheosis: living dead!!!

Well surely most of you go to metagame.com and u guys r sure to be familiar with Jason Grebher Meyer's the apotheosis articles. Well, im doing one on my own since a friend of mine requested for it. Enjoy=)

Anyone who read the chapter 2 of my fanfic will know that Zhi Li plays a deck of zombies which loops from arms aid to lvl 6 synchros to lvl 8 synchros. Its a sick and terrible combo and Marcus Ang from Singapore, 15, asked me to tune his deck to fit that combo and to turn this deck into a synchro machine while keeping up with the zombies theme.

The deck looks fine thought there are many things wrong with it. For example the monster line-up is wrong. The current meta trend calls for a big monster line-up at least 19 or 20. 16 will just clog ur hand with magic and traps. Next the wrong thing is that his deck still has MOBC which was banned in the past format. =.=

Time to cut some cards. I think i have to cut the deck of at least 20 over cards. Time to do the cutting and do some explaining!

Okay i cut just 21 cards from the deck. The searcher pyramid turtle is quite useless its quite slow. We want a deck which can react and do stuf on its own now wait for oyour opponent response. pyramid turtle is a card that needs opponent to respond so NO
Dmoc is banned. Red eyes undead dragon sucks. We must use goyiu guardian instead its way way better too. I find 3 zombie master and 3 mezuki too much so i cut the deck down by one of each. Why? too many also no use. And a tech card later will just kill mezuki. Besides xutting off 2 more will give us more space to tech and innovate.
Spirit reaper is cut off because we want the deck to commit to the monster field and destroy oponnent with fast attackers and strong ones too. If u wan a tribute for crush card go find 3 zombie carriers instead which are in the deck.
Mst and giant trunade are good cards but i feel that they dont belong there. Trunade kills off the iron wall combo and i think MST isnt just that worth running now. ITS GOOD I ADMIT but it doesnt really provide much advantage. Its just too....ah u know...Its a 1 for 1 n godly but still i don like it....3 book of life and 3 zombie world are cut off because they are situational cards. The world can still be sided to kill off oppresion monarchs with prime material. book of life is too situational and the amount of zombies in the grave are just not worth reviving. Mezuki is a card u want in the grave. And other cards just r needed to sync out the Synchros. We already have zombie master to do that. NEXT.
Smashing ground and lightning vortex are not really needed. U dont really need monster hate cards since the deck is likely to be able to clear off everything with its fast attackers.

Now to add some cards.
Marc's deck had only 38 cards and thats another big mistake. 40 cards minimum. Good. That gives us 23 spaces to use and innovate. I will add in 24 more cards since one more isnt much and the deck is so fast i don think it will need it.

Okay my reasons why i do so.
Breaker the magical warrior is good. Its efficient and it can kill off spells/ trap and still attack. Picture this: Breaker+ urgent teleport= Goyou guardian+1 free monster(goyou effect)+ one spell/trap of opponent gone. Breaker is also a great card to take out face down solemns which are a problem.
Next i run 2 teleport and 2 clevonse mainly because of 3 reasons:
1) teleport abuse with iron wall = clevonse on field forever. =)
2) its fast, its efficient and clevonse is a great staller
3) Its a card that can stop GB, be chained to, and the hand clog problem will be solved by the zombie carrier cost.

2 goblin zombies are a must with their gay searching sangan effects . Picture this we can have 4 ssangans in a deck. Sounds good? Yes. Next goblin zombie+teleport= goyou/briunac + zombie in hand. Again insane advantage. You have 2 for 2.

Sangan is for more speed and is basically a zombie searcher as well indirectly. In the olden days ppl used sangan to fetch witch of black forest n then use witch to search out the card desired. the theme is zombies. This way, sangan will search out zombie goblin which leads to any zombie from deck. Its nearly as good as a witch+sangan and i wont complain =)
Also sangan can have his effect faster but combining it with Crush card virus and teleport. Teleport+sangan= AOJ catastor and a card in hand. Sometimes we can get morphing ajr so good lor.

Bolt hedghog was originally the main idea of the deck. IMO, 2 is enough and i wont run more than that. Its discardable by zombie master effect.

3 diabolic guy is speed and faster synchro summon. Furthermore hand clog problem once again can be solved by zombie carrier cost. Diabolic guy(malicious) is also a card that can be discarded easily by zombie master and cost for crush card virus.

dark arm dragon is just good. Even with iron wall on field he is still a beatstick. And the deck calls for lots of playtesting so you know when to make the right move. Some cards may clash with each other such as malicious+DAD killed by iron wall. Nevertheless, DAD will come out faster since 3 darks in grave is easy to achieve and the control of grave is achieved through zombie master.

Hand severing is tech, Sometimes the deck doesnt have enough cards and calls for discarding because of badhands. Severing fixes this and at one copy in deck he is good and efficient since bad hand is likely not to be achieved. Imagine discarding carrier/ mezuki/ diabolic guy to find ourself draw zombie master and laugh at opponent! cuz thats when synchro begin!

Cold wave is a good card. Its a meta killer and i dont have many problem with it. Any card that can make me gain advantage in a huge lot is welcome in here. Cold wave is perfect witht he swarm theme and just my luck the deck doesnt have many spell/traps to rely on. Cards like monster reborn bla bla can wait and the hand severing, emergency teleport and royal iron wall can be chained to. =)

3 iron wall is the bomb here. It kills the average dark deck as it kills off Dark arm dragon, DD crow(which spoil the combo) , Gaius the wicked emperor, and the new allure of darkness! Oh yea the rulings for Allure are as follows:
If royal wall is activated before allure then allure cannot be activated. If allure is activated and wall is chained then allure effect continue and the monster removed from play is sent to the grave yard instead. I never check but on the Singapore forums i posted this questiona n a guy gav us the rulings on wall+ common charity(a card similar to allure except the cost is changed to normal monster). Slh be same bah so yea here it goes.

CCV is just so good in here wrecking havoc and then going siao since so many tribute. Mirror force urmm good card so go in lor. Torrential tribute was EXCLUDED from the build since the deck is swarms fast and this card doesnt belong in here since u don wan to kill off ur swarm right? Dont argue here, i testdecked and it really doesnt belong in here. It usually ends up dead

This deck is crazy. With proof from Shonen Jump Baltimore we can see that Gb are going down. DAD teleport decks are going crazy once more. The TCG n OCG are on par i guess since the TCG GB n OCG also same ba we got slave tiger liau. N then we have allure. So...=)
DAD decks are crazy and with more innovation we can beat the hell of lightlords and GB! Zombies might just be the new DAD teleport deck type to tech with since it has speed, a reborner and grave controller, and a decent searcher. They just might be good. East Japan top 8 decklist got one of them run zombies in their decks. So, yahoo we can win!
I dint run allure or Ddraw since the deck is already fast. Furthermore with the royal iron wall miandecked not good la. Minimize the card removing craziness and stick with the ones that can help only.

Besides i rather have a definite option rather than a chance taking option. This mihgt sound confusing but running allure will give u 2 cards so means there is a 50-50 chance that its good ot bad, Could be 2 good, 2 bad or one of the other. But with the zombie speed u confirmed got synchro on field and swarm liau. Going through life and living for 14 years a definite and a person who doesnt rely on luck tend to succeed more. Same with the deck. So, the deck goes on.

This deck plays tuners like crazy and abuse them. People complain that GB have test tiger but to me i think tuners r like test tiger. Since test tiger trades him n the GB for another bettter card it works in the same concept with tuners. basically i'd like to think tuners as test tigers as they trade the other monster n them for a big big nice monster.

This deck needs lot of testdecking. And it needs a crazy lot and hell lot of practice to know n make the right decision. Its no easy deck to pay trust me . U have to sometimes take a gamble for the card to discard for foolish burial or the zombie to choose for zombie goblin effect. The deck will onli work well if u testdeck it alot n u learn to get used to it. If u nvr play then its just like useless. Its like giving a handless person a ring. A useful item but cant be used.

Here is the results of testdecking:
Lightlords: 4:1

GB: 3:2

Other dark arm decks: 5:0

normal zombies with undead world: 5:0

Meta beat= 2:3 but with sidedeck can beat

prime material monarch: 5: 0 since gaius is dead. N side deck zombie world. The deck takes it out nicely anyway. N can strike by turn 2 n one turn kill

Pretty good huh? i think can tahan la. N with more innovation it might just turn out as good as GB. Good luck if u guys wan play this deck. =)

Card review: Spirit reaper

Now you all might be pretty surprised here seeing me do a review on spirit reaper. People are gonna say "michael ah why are you wasting our time telling us about the brokenness of this card"

Lets all look at this card. It has 300 attack and a shitty defense. Its dark, zombie and cant be destroyed by battle. It however can be destroyed by a simple target of spell/ trap or monster effect. If it this card attacks directly your opponent loses a card from his hand.

Now this card has its good points being indestructible (is this good? u'll find out later =)] Also if it inflicts battle it rips ur opponent of a card. A minus one and disagvantage is always good.

Now im gonna go over and mention the number one deck right now. GLADIATOR beats. Gladiators function by successfully attacking without beign destroyed. Thus, it will be able to tag out and become broken. Now reaper's effect now isnt good! Why? Against Gb, it is a crappy shit. Gladiators function by atatcking reaper. If they ahve 3 monster onthe field, they attack reaper. All are CONSIDERED SUCCESSFUL. Thus out tag 3 monster lor. Mostly they are gonna call out the fish or the big bird and kill off ur reaper. What a bunch of unappreciative cards. =(

Next ripping a card off your opponent's hand isnt all that good. It might just help your opponent! Imagine lightlords having 3 of them in the grave. Along you come and attack and discard another lightlord. Then they have 4 liau! Next turn come punishment dragoon and boom!!!! GG

Another situation. Against a dark deck. Lets say your opponent has 2 dark monster. Then u go and attack n give him a third dark. Next turn Dark arm dragon! GG. Sometimes, you just might help your opponent get cards he want into the graveyard. Lets say d-hero malicious, mezuki, zombie carrier and mrore! I won many games due to opponent's reaper attack. I gotta thank him for it.

Another situation. U discard an opponent's bestiari from hand. Next turn he sumon out new monster and attack ur reaper! Tag out Darius. Summon out Bestiari from grave! Then contact fusion out Big Bird! Boom! Major disadvantage.

I dont have much to post la. Sometimes if your opponent go play some monster which can do piercing damage spirit reaper is to blame! Also some stupid situations which i come across like having reaper attack n send dragon to opponent graveyard. Then next turn opponent play dragon mirrorfor FGD and i KO.

Since spirit reaper is already like a disadvantage against the 3 major decks i dont think its very very good to run now.
